Weekly Wisdom #4: Earn your Body

Last week I decided to bite the bullet and make a commitment to get strong in June. I signed up for the Refine Outdoor Regroup program for the month of June. ReGroup is a commitment to taking (at least) 8 outdoor Refine Method classes in the month of June. It is a financial (aka not cheap) and physical commitment. Most of the classes in the Downtown location are at night — I’m generally a morning exerciser so it adds an extra little challenge for me.

Why did I chose to commit? Because I want to get strong and I need that added support and motivation of going to a class and knowing I already paid for it ahead, so I have to do it. I’ve suffered from a couple of running injuries over the past 2 years and that’s a cycle I’m stopping NOW.

So this week I leave you with some wisdom to ponder over yourself:

For me earning my body isn’t about weight, or even physical appearance. Earning my body is about challenging myself, pushing my limits. This month, June, I am committing to earning the privilege to run by focusing on strengthening my core, gluteus, thighs and hips. I WILL earn my body.

    I love that phrase…”earn your body”. It’s so true! It IS hard work and you can’t expect it to be easy to get/stay fit and healthy.

    I love challenges like that…when I have a specific goal to work toward it helps me stay motivated, holds me accountable, and keeps my mind focused. Good luck!!

  3. This is SO true and I love that phrase!! People think that it’s easy to look good when it does take a lot of work unless you are one of the lucky 1% like my fiance who doesn’t have to work out… :) Can’t wait to hear about your experience!

    That’s a fantastic expression! I’m really interested in what you think about Refine Regroup. Where does the Downtown group meet? My job is kinda unpredictable, so I’m nervous about signing up and not being able to do it …

    • I LOVE the Refine ReGroup! I’m not going to say it’s overly different from the indoor classes, but it’s so nice to be outside and I feel like there’s more interaction and camaraderie in the classes. If you’re worried about schedule, you can sign up for classes on a weekly basis (that’s what I’m doing), you don’t need to pick set dates ahead of time. Let me know if you’re doing it in July, maybe I’ll see you there!

      Oh and USQ location is Sty Town Park at 17th btw 2nd and 3rd
